The Women's Cancer Fund is dedicated to helping women diagnosed with cancer, who are members of the community served by Munson Medical Center ( usually within the 5 county region). The fund is used to provide financial assistance for supportive care when other means have been exhausted. Supportive care includes, but is not limited to, such things as prosthetics, transportation during treatment, child care during treatment, groceries or utility payments during treatment.

This is the tenth year the fund has been in existence. The Women's Cancer Fund helps over 50 women each year, as they battle cancer and try to bring back some balance to their lives. The age range is between 35 - 65 years of age.

In their own words, this is what the Women’s Cancer Fund means to some of those fighting the battle.

"I was reluctant to accept financial help from the Women's Cancer Fund, but realize with my illness and five children, I must accept. I hope, when I am well, to repay this fund and to help out someone else."

"Thank you so much for your help with our utility bills. It is so overwhelming to be ill, do the treatments and not be able to work...Your help gives us hope and belief that there is light at the end of the tunnel, and that some people honestly care about others."

"Your help was greatly appreciated - it got us on an even keel so there is less stress in the family right now. This means an awful lot to me and my family."
